Story
This August, I am taking on the "Cycle 274 Miles in August" challenge, transforming my summer into a journey of hope and determination. Over the course of the month, I will cycle 274 miles to raise vital funds for life-changing brain tumour research. This challenge is deeply personal to me — I am cycling in memory of my stepdad, who we lost 14 years ago to this cruel disease, and also in honor of my gym mentor and friend, whose mother was taken by this relentless illness.
Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity dedicated solely to finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. The impact of this disease is far-reaching: one in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. It strikes indiscriminately, affecting individuals at any age. Tragically, brain tumours claim more lives under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Yet since 2002, only 1% of national cancer research funding has been allocated to this devastating disease.
This urgent need compels us to act now. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change these statistics and bring hope where it’s needed most. By supporting my fundraising goal of £150, you will be helping fund critical research that could save countless lives.
Join me on this ride — together we can make a difference and find a cure. Your support means everything; let’s turn every mile cycled into progress against brain tumours.
