Alzheimer's Society's Trek the Inca trail in Peru · 17 May 2008 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I have decided to join my good friend Chris Spooner on his Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru for the Alzheimers Society. Chris's Grandfather passed away sadly after suffering from the disease and this is the reason for our chosen charity.

The trek takes place in May next year and will involve trekking for about 50 hours over 5 days and at Altitudes of up to 15,000 feet. Although the trek will be difficult and probably ridiculously tiring it is in the aid of a very good cause.

The trip has been organised by the Alzheimers Scoiety and in order for me to go i need to raise £2,800 so this is where you guys come in. I would be enormously appreciative if you could sponsor me and help me get towards my target (and hopefully beyond) as every little helps as they say.

The money that i raise won't go to finding some miracle cure but what it will do is help ease the burden of support on the families of those suffering with the disease by providing better care for sufferers and it will also go towards building a better support network for the families.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
