Marathon completed..! Hard work, especially 19-22 miles (a low point) but I'm really pleased to have finished in just under 4 hours. Thanks again for all your donations on behalf of Diabetes UK.

A quick update... I ran the Wenlock Olympian Society half marathon last Sunday. It was definately the wettest, hilliest and muddiest race I've done to date. It was also one of the most fun!! Thanks everyone for your donations so far. Roll on Summer!!?
I've been running now for about two years, mainly for fun, but have managed to complete 5 half-marathons in that time (Lake Vwrnwy and Stafford twice each, and Ironbridge once). The real challenge was a full marathon, so I've enrolled for the Chester Marathon this coming October.
I wasn't sure training for a 26 mile race could really be called "fun", so I decided this would be a good opportunity to raise some money for charity.
I've been a Consultant in Diabetes since 2001, and I'm the President of our local Diabetes UK Patient Support group, so raising money for Diabetes UK seemed the obvious choice.
I'll be keeping a blog at http://marathonjogblog.wordpress.com to keep people updated with my training progress, and to provide some information about diabetes, and why we need to stamp it out.
