Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 20th August 2021, mine and Sylvia's son Tom age 39 was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumour. Tom is currently undergoing chemotherapy ( Temozalomide) and has also undergone six month's of radiotherapy. It has proven to be a very difficult and ardous journey so far and throughout his treatment, it has become very apparent that so little money is raised for Brain Tumour research and shockingly, less than 1% of all cancer charity income is set aside for this horrendous disease.
People under 40 years old are more susceptible to brain tumours. We are therefore undertaking numerous challenges to aid, assist and raise awareness for the Brain Tumour Research Charity and do our part in helping to fight this disease. There are over 150 forms of brain tumor's with Tom's being amongst the most severe as far as survival rate.
Myself and Tom's family and friends would like to ask for help in anyway possible please, either by donation, sponsorship or simply any means of financial assistance to enable us to reach our target for this important and worthy cause.
As well as the John O' Groats cycle challenge, being undertaken by myself Tom's Dad on the 1st of July over a period of 29 days with support from Nuffield Health, Tom's Mum Sylvia is also undertaking a wing walk on the 27th August in Lincolnshire. There will also be the Ben Nevis challenge in September and numerous other exciting challenges to be confirmed.
