We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

Hi All

After the success of last year, I will again be carrying out various fundraising social events and challenging myself in a number of gruelling physical events throughout 2019 to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer.

The first of my physical challenges will be a Vitality Half
Marathon in London at the beginning of March.  I will then be competing in Half Ironman events in Oceanside, California (April) and Mallorca (May), followed by Full Ironman events in Roth, Germany (July) and another go at Tenby, Wales (September), where I am hoping to beat my previous time in each event.

We are in the process of arranging several other events, the first being a Pub Quiz on the 20th April 2019.

As some of you may know, this charity means a lot to myself and my family as my father was diagnosed with bowel cancer in June 2017.  Fortunately, after undergoing treatment, in January 2018 my father visited the outpatients clinic for his results and was told that he was cancer free.

This is the reason why I am continuing to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer.  The total for 2018 reached £8,000, I am keen to beat this total in 2019.

Please give generously.

Thanks

Darryl Wilkes
