Across Dartmoor in a day · 30 June 2018

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

A group of staff from PHSG wanted a sizable challenge to raise awareness and funds for an MS charity.  The result is an attempt to walk the full length of Dartmoor in one day. Starting at Belstone near Okehampton in the morning, the team hope to walk the 30 miles to Ivybridge in the south before the sun sets on the day.

This will certainly be a testing route, with the going under foot challenging enough, let alone the numerous assents and descents along the way.  To add even more challenge, at least 1 member of staff is then going to attempt to run the same route a few weeks later!

MS has recently had some potential breakthroughs in treatments, and with your help perhaps we can help the lives of so many.

Please help us reach our target and donate whatever you can spare.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition which can affect the brain and/or spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms. It's a lifelong condition that can sometimes cause serious disability.

It's estimated that there are more than 100,000 people diagnosed with MS in the UK. It's most commonly diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s, although it can develop at any age. It's about two to three times more common in women than men.
