Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We aim to climb Pen Y Fan, Cadair Idris and Snowden in one day, when the autumn elements make it that bit more challenging.
This year, our group in the Medical School lost a unique friend, mentor, colleague and all round superb human being - Professor Damon Berridge. A fund in his name has been setup by SDMF and a group of us in Data Science - Swansea University Medical School are undertaking this challenge to raise money for his fund to support young people with a maths/stats focus to advance.
Damon was a Chair in Medical Statistics in the Medical School. Those that met him never forgot his infectious humor, his enthusiasm for his subject and his focus on supporting staff develop in their statistical careers. He was sadly lost to us at the age of 53 after a long struggle with cancer. During this struggle, in typical Damon fashion, the smiles, enthusiasm, humanity and thought for others above oneself were ever present.
The walkers are made up of academics, researchers and professional staff from the Medical School. The ages and abilities are varied but we are confident we can do it for such a good cause.
We would really value your support for this cause and welcome any donation large or small. Please give what you can and Gift Aid.
