A run in memory of Lily-Mae

Thames Path Challenge 2013 · 14 September 2013 ·
I had the pleasure of meeting Lily-Mae on a few occasions, but I will always remember her beautiful smile and her huge appetite for life. Lily-Mae could put a smile on anyone's face.
Lily-Mae, her two sisters and their grandmother were involved in a terrible road traffic accident in Weymouth on 11th March 2012. Lily-Mae's sisters and grandmother received bad injuries, but sadly Lily-Mae passed away in her parents arms on 12th March.
In her final hours, Lily-Mae was cared for in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital Southampton, where the care, love and support the whole family received was second to none.
I had the pleasure of not only serving with Lily-Maes dad, John, a fellow Royal Marine, but also becoming good friends with Charlene, Anthony, Casey, Annabella and Lily-Mae.
On 14th September 2013, driven by the memory of Lily-Mae and the thought of how much your donations will help hundreds of children and families every year, I will be attempting to run 100km (62 miles) in under 12 hours in the Thames Path Challenge.
