Dave's 'Beat Brexit' Challenge · 31 October 2019

We work across the UK and Isle of Man providing children’s homes, supported housing, fostering and specialist support services, all designed for young people in care, on the edge of care, or leaving care. Our aim is that young people living with us feel safe and cared for.

Story

Can I get to Zagreb, Croatia by bike before
Boris Brexits?

Starting from when Boris took over Brexit negotiations I will be trying to cycle 1500km by 31 October. I do cycle a fair bit already but 500km a month is a challenge! Just to be clear, I’m not really going on the trip, I’m just going to cycle the equivalent of the journey but around London. I've driven it and it is a long way!

What I am also trying to do is raise money for St Christopher’s Fellowship’s 150th birthday. St Christopher’s is an amazing charity working with children and young people who have experienced the care system or are homeless. The funds will all go towards supporting young people create the futures they dream of.

Why Zagreb? I go there a fair bit and to drive there you go through some great bits of Europe - France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Slovenia before arriving in the Northern Croatian Mountains. Plus Brexit has put the cost of flying there up so cycling is a very cost effective option!

Every £1 gets me 10 km closer to beating Boris!
