Once proud soldiers who dedicated their lives to serving their country, a team of remarkable wheelchair rugby veterans now faces a new battle. This is the story of their journey, as they fight against PTSD and mental health issues, seeking the care and support they need to reclaim their lives and find solace in the camaraderie of their fellow warriors.

These courageous individuals have served their country across conflicts spanning the globe, sacrificing their physical and mental well-being for the greater good. They braved unimaginable challenges, witnessing the harsh realities of war, which left indelible scars on their souls. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) became an unwelcome companion, haunting their dreams and causing turmoil in their waking lives.

But these veterans refuse to let their struggles define them. They have discovered a new sense of purpose through the exhilarating sport of wheelchair rugby. This fiercely competitive game not only tests their physical limits but also provides an outlet for their emotions and an opportunity to reclaim their identities as warriors.

To help these extraordinary men and women regain control of their lives, I am running a Ironman in Bolton on July 2nd 2023.
