Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having been touched by Doddie Weir's reaction to this horrible disease and having seen my brother in law's sister, Julie, taken too early by MND, I wish to raise awareness of MND and contribute some small amount to research and support.
Doddie was at the same school as me once upon a time, although our paths didn't cross - he was a bit better at rugby than me! His strength, dignity and sense of humour in the face of his diagnosis has been a great inspiration to many and I hope we can all learn from his and his family's amazing fortitude. Julie Exton was my main inspiration for this fundraising venture though. A successful female judge at the very top of the legal profession, with lots more to give to her family and her career, she died within a year of being diagnosed with MND and our awareness and understanding of the disease was suddenly brought to the fore for all of her family.
I am cycling from Land’s End to John o’Groats from the end of May to raise awareness and some small contribution to the fight against MND. Your interest and support is really welcomed.
To keep a track of my progress from Cornwall to Caithness, you can see my updates on my facebook page and on my blog https://maddogtravelog.info
