Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are taking part in an ultra marathon from London to Brighton 62 miles (100km) on the 27th May 2017 in memory of my father Norman Hayes.
Although we both try and keep fit and push ourselves with running, cycling and the odd triathlon, this will be our biggest and longest challenge ever. We are aiming to complete our run in less that 18 hours.
Our training started at the end of February (when we were mad enough to enter!). So we haven't got long!
After a brutal battle with Cancer Norman passed away on 14th April 2015 just 6 months after being diagnosed. Nothing will ever prepare you for it. And I don't think we will ever accept that he has truly gone. He was a great and inspiring man. A much loved friend, father, and husband who will be greatly missed.
He taught us to be strong and to always try our hardest. All though our lives we wanted to make him proud. We will be thinking of that every single mile we run.
Myself and my husband Dave would like to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research in the hope that others don't have to go through what my dad and our family when endured.
If you feel you could make a contribution – however small – we will be immensely grateful.
Thanks
Charlotte and Dave xx
