Escape from Alcatraz · 2 May 2010

The Labrador Rescue Trust is a charity covering the South West of England, to rescue and re-home Labradors in need of new homes for whatever reason, and to re-home them into genuine, caring homes. It matches the dog to the home and does not operate on a 'waiting list' basis.

Story

We are racing the "Escape from Alcatraz" Triathlon and raising money for The Labrador Rescue Trust a local charity dedicated to looking after....labradors-surprise surprise. Rehoming and fixing as many dogs as they can.

No donated money is being used to fund our adventure. All proceeds go direct to the charity.

The event entails a 1.5 mile swim in 55 degree water (yes there are sharks), an 18 mile bike ride on the lovely flat!! terrain around San Francisco then an 8 mile run on sand including the famous 400 sand steps!!!

The event is even more poignant as we have just lost our beloved skokie 14 yrs 7 mths and 18 days.
