London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am privileged to say I am the former Welfare Officer for the RFU Injured Players Foundation, whose main role it was to deliver immediate welfare support to newly injured players in england, from the grassroots to elite level of our sport.
I worked very closely with long term injured players who have been catastrophically injured through our sport, conduct home visits and organise Engage activities to facilitate, empower and support the players to continue to live their lives to the fullest.
@ The RFU IPF we
Support - providing immediate and lifelong support to rugby players who sustain a catastrophic spinal cord or traumatic brain injury.
Protect- We fund research into the causes and outcomes of serious injury, identifying the best ways to prevent and treat it.
Following major spinal surgery 5 years ago, it meant that I could no longer play the sport that I have loved, since I was 7 years old. To still work and coach within the rugby community is like a dream come true but completing this mammoth Marathon and being able to raise money and the profile I am giving back to the game that supports so many of us in the community.
Following on from our successful virtual marathon at Kendal rugby club, 110 gruelling laps of the pitch, we have a second chance to complete the London Marathon in London in October 2022
please support if you can
cheers
Dave
