The profile photo is of my Mum and Dad taken a couple of years before she died of cancer aged 36. She had won an award at work, Dad doesn’t look very relaxed bless him. At this point, she would have to go to hospital every now and again, but Michael Cross and I had no idea what was really happening, there was no one to talk to us or to advise Dad or Nan and Grandad what to say to us, and the same after she died, I was 9, Mike was 7. Thankfully there are now people and places to offer help to kids who have lost or are about to lose a loved one. Cabaret vs Cancer helps raise money to fund them and that’s why I am working with them.
