Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am cycling 270 miles in two days to raise money for a charity that until recently was supporting a close friend of mines father in his fight against this terrible disease. Unfortunately since I offered to do this ride the person who inspired me to do it (Tom Stavers) has passed away, a proud and passionate family man he fought long and hard against this terrible disease but in the end it took its toll on him and he lost his brave fight. The fact remains however that this charity needs our support, to help current and future sufferers by undertaking important research to understand more about this disease. Every donation will help, no matter how big or small so please dig deep and give what you can.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.
Although there is currently no cure for MND your donation no matter how big or small (bigger is always better) will fund vital reaserch into this disease which has a huge impact, not only on its sufferers but also on their families.
