Kilimanjaro Challenge 2008 · 26 January 2008 ·

We are Scope. We campaign to transform attitudes to disability, tackle injustice and inspire action. We create opportunities and provide information and support that empowers.

Story

This is a special challenge for me as I have a 7 year old granddaughter with cerebral palsy called Kirsty, who has lived with us since she was six months old due to the fact she needs 24 hour dedicated care.

We as a family never expected a disability such as this to enter into our lives, but just as many other families deal with it, ours has had to adapt too.

I have therefore decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa's highest mountain, to raise money and awareness for this fantastic cause and a charity which supports many families who aren't as fortunate as ours.

This trip will be an experience that will change my life, hopefully we can all help to change the lives of people who suffer daily with cerebral palsy.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Scope will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
