Sometimes I ask my friends to make donations for the various projects I work on in Guatemala.  Sometimes I also ask my friends to make donations so that I can gain entry to a marathon.  Well, this time, I'm doing both!

In March of 2019, I'll be running the Impact Marathon Guatemala - a difficult trail marathon that goes up an active volcano! The Impact Marathon Series is a UK based organization that combines the thrill of running with the dedication to making real and lasting impacts in the world.  They take a group of 50 -100 people to the various locations in which the races are organized, and spend a week working in the community with local organizations, and then end the week with a 26.2 mile race!

I came across this group when looking into whether there were any marathons in Guatemala, and it turns out theirs is the only one.  I've been involved in several projects in Guatemala lately, and am very excited to participate in this unique experience.

The local charity that we will be working with is SERES, a group dedicated to creating a new generation of leaders in Central America. They do this through several programs focused on teaching, growing, and empowering youth in the most vulnerable of communities to become the leaders of tomorrow.  I'm very excited to get to know this organization and what they do, as their goals are very much in line with the group I've been working with in Guatemala over the last few years.

To run this marathon, I need to raise some money! Your donation will be used to fund the projects that we work on with SERES while in Guatemala, as well as programs they will continue after we leave.
