Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
Most of you will know that my wonderful 10 year old boy, Warwick, has complex needs and needs a lot of care and support in his every day and night life. Despite being quadriplegic and partially sighted he is a positive and happy young man, full of life and determination.
Warwick attends Sherbourne Field’s School in Coventry, a school that I hold in high regard for delivering the highest standards of education and support for Children with disabilities like Warwick. The teachers and assistants are passionate about doing the best they can for the children, creating a warm and loving environment for the children to enjoy.
This year I am doing my best to raise money for his school’s hydrotherapy swimming pool which will be closed down if they can’t raise 350k by 2021. The pool provides the only access to swimming / floating / therapy that a couple of hundred children use weekly. For most of the children it is not a luxury, it is a necessity to relieve considerable pain and anxiety but alas a necessity not worthy of government funding!
On the 24th March, Warwick and I will be participating in the Coventry half marathon. I’ll be doing the running and Warwick will be navigating from his wheelchair. We have been training every weekend for the last 6 months clocking up 16 miles per week (and it has been tough going as Warwick requires regular OBS and hydration in his chair, plus I have come to realise that it’s tough pushing 50kg up a hill but even tougher trying to stop 50kg from running away from you down a hill (serious shin splints as a result).
I feel bad that I am always reaching out for charitable support but for me this is an extra special cause and I could really do with your help to support Warwick's school with the huge financial challenge they face.
