100km run for the NHS · 23 May 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a serving soldier in the Royal Engineers and am coming up on 17 years service.  In the past I have completed numerous marathons and have completed 2 x Ironman distance triathlons.  This year I set myself a new challenge and this was to complete an Ultra race.

I was signed up to run 100km from London to Brighton in May 2020 but that event was rightly cancelled due to the ongoing current situation that we all currently find ourselves in.

Now I could of just given up and said ‘oh well I can’t do this now as the event is cancelled’ but that’s not in my nature so I’ve decided to re-work it and utilise the 400m running track that is on my barracks.  The distance of 100km (62 miles) will take 250 laps to complete and to be done continuously.  This will be not just a challenge on the body but also mentality but this is nothing compared to the mental and physical challenges that our NHS are currently facing everyday as they serve on the front lines against covid-19.

I’m hoping to raise whatever I can to help them fight and win this battle.
