HOWEVER........

Can you help with my dice shake?
On Saturday morning I will be setting off on a 24 hour bike ride as part of Ilkeston Cycle Club's Midsummer's Evie weekend.

To make where I go random, I have six rough routes planned, all heading in different directions and I need someone to shake a dice just before 8am on Saturday to decide which route I choose and which way I go.
You could be that dice shaker! Make a donation/bid on the link below between now and Friday evening 8pm and the highest bidder will have that honour!
Or just make a donation please

The original story....

Young Evie Hartley, a popular and talented member of Ilkeston Cycle Club, was diagnosed with a brain tumour a few days before her 13th birthday.  She has set out to raise money for the Childhood Cancer & Leukaemia Group (CCLG) and the club is doing things all year to support her.

On Midsummer's Eve, which we have renamed Midsummer's Evie, many of us will be riding the furthest we have ever ridden.  My little bit will be to ride as far as I can in 24 hours.  I have never done anything like this before.  Although I cycle a lot, 6-7 hours is the longest time I have spent in the saddle.

I have worked out six routes , heading to various points on the compass and numbered them,1-6.  On the day, I or hopefully Evie, will shake a dice and whichever number comes up, I will pick that route and go.  I will quite literally not know where I am heading until I set off!  I will then ride until I either cannot continue or until the 24 hours is over.

And where will I end up?  Who knows?  Ordnance Survey splits the British Isles into 204 maps, a grid that covers the whole country.  For £5 you can purchase one of those map grids and if I end up in the one that you have, you will win the most amazing prize, a signed, Chris Froome yellow jersey from when he won the Tour de France in 2017.  One of these was on sale on ebay recently for £800.  Unsigned!

Make a donation on the link, £5 gets you one square, £10 for two and so on, have as many as you want.  Let me know how to contact you to let you know which map grid you have and wait and see.  (Facebook will be the easiest and I will be posting updates on there.)

The grids will be allocated randomly, using a random number generator and I will do this each evening until they are sold out.  If I finish in more than one square, the one that I am closest to the middle of will win.

More importantly, for every £5 go you have, for every pedal stroke I make, Evie and CCLG will win.
