2000 Squats for November - Refuge · 25 October 2021

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

Double Eleven team members are coming together throughout November to raise money for Refuge. We have one month to do 2000 squats each! While we're working out our glutes and quads, we'll be helping pay for safe housing, support and resources for women and children suffering domestic abuse, as well as funding the National Domestic Abuse Helpline. £52 provides a safe bed for a night. £185 runs the National Domestic Abuse Helpline for an hour. Every time we collectively hit a new £52 benchmark, we'll do a new challenge. 10 squats on one leg, squatting while drinking a cup of tea, a 'longest squat' challenge etc. If you donate a whole £52, you can set the challenge (within reason!).

About Refuge: One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence. By kindly sponsoring me today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence. Thank you.
