Community Hospice provides free end of life care to anyone living with a terminal illness in Greenwich and Bexley, supporting around 3,000 people each year. Our goal is to help everyone we care for to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle.

Story

We have created this page in loving memory of a fantastic husband, dad and grandad.  We will all miss him so much.

Dave was diagnosed with mesothelioma (a cancer of the lining of the lung, caused from exposure to asbestos) in October 2011.  He battled with radio and chemotherapy and even took part in a trial to help keep the cancer at bay.  Unfortunately, the battle ended on 28 December 2012.

Ricky cared for Dave at home but she couldn't have done it without the support of the fantastic Nurses and Doctors from the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice and we are asking for donations to be made to them so that the invaluable support and care they provide can be passed on to others.

For those of you who knew Dave well, you would know that he wasn't a materialistic man. "Don't waste your money on me," he would say every Christmas and Birthday.  We feel that donating to this fantastic charity instead of buying flowers would be in keeping with what Dave would have wanted.

We thank you for helping to support the hospice who in turn will help to support other families like us.

With love from Ricky, Sally, Michelle, Ruby, Anna & Arthur
