I have wanted to do the Great North Run for some time, but when I had a place before, I had to pull out due to injury. I was unsuccessful in the ballot this year, but have been offered a late place to run for Diabetes UK. I have only a couple of months to get ready, but my wife, Nadia, is going to help me train. With your support, I hope to raise as much as I can in this short space of time.
Working as a diabetes specialist in the NHS, I see day to day the impact of diabetes on patients' lives and the ever-stretched NHS resources. Running for Diabetes UK has given me the opportunity to pursue a personal running goal and also the chance to raise money for a charity that funds research into diabetes management and campaigns on behalf of my patients and others living with diabetes.
I am extremely grateful for any donations to help me pass my fundraising target.
