Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I'm completing the Ironman Challenge on the 22nd July in aid of both THE FED and Colel Chabad. The challenge includes a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and then a 26.2 mile run! I was inspired to take the Iron Man Challenge by Mark Adlestone, Colel Chabad's National President and THE FED's Chairman, and knew that this was the best way I could raise much needed funds for this very worthy cause.

ESHEL, UK Friends of Colel Chabad (Registered Charity No 327485), have been feeding Israel's needy via Food Aid, Health Care, and Widows and Orphans programs for over 224 years. They aim to alleviate the plight of 500,000 of Israel's neediest children. The core of their work is in Israel where they, run 20 food halls (soon to be 21) serving over 1 million meals a year, provide 3 large crates of food every month for 5,000 families, run the only centre for MS in Israel for adults in Migdal HaEmek, run 12 dental clinics specialising in Paeditric dentistry, operate 6 (soon to be 11) day care centres which enable mothers from families under financial pressure to go back to work earlier. On top of all this they supply the means for families on a low budget to make a wedding on one of our two wedding halls in Jerusalem, saving the families a considerable amount of money.

THE FED is the leading social care charity for the Jewish community in Greater Manchester. Every month they look after over 1,200 people - whether in the community or in their care at HEATHLANDS VILLAGE - from babies with special needs to older people with dementia. Our services support an entire spectrum of people, from birth, and throughout their entire lifes.
