Story

My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Amazing sister-in-law Sam was diagnosed with Pompe Disease - a form of Glycogen Storage Disease - in february 2010.  Glycogen Storage Disease is caused by a defective gene. People with Pompe Disease lack the enzyme that breaks down glycogen into glucose. Without this enzyme, glycogen, a thick sticky substance, accumulates within the muscle cells and leads to muscle weakness and breathing problems that worsen over time. Although it mainly affects the skeletal and respiratory muscles, in children it can also affect the heart.

I am Absailing the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth to help raise money & awareness for AGSD, which is a brilliant charity who offer support and guidance, as well as help with funding & sponsorship for research, studies, and trials towards treatments.  AGSD have done so much to help Sam who despite this debilitating disease never fails to amaze me with the things she achieves for herself, her family and her beautiful little girl Poppy.

It goes without saying that any donation you can make will be massively appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every single donation by a UK taxpayer. So its the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks again for listening.
