We enable donors around the world to support forgotten people in Zimbabwe

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

2018 is the year we remember the end of the "Great War."  Our veterans are well cared for, and treasured.  Others have just been abandoned.

There are approximately 600 elderly veterans who served the British Crown now living a terrible life of poverty in Zimbabwe.  If they are fortunate, they receive one meal a day.  Most receive no healthcare whatsoever.  No medicines for illnesses. Imagine dying without any form of morphine to deaden the pain.

This is not their fault.  They had pensions and savings, but all money (and hope) was lost when Zimbabwe was hit by hyper-inflation and the economy collapsed.  Despite the British Government having a "duty of care" towards it's ex-soldiers, they haven't done anything to address this issue.

I am asking for donations for my trek around the Isle of Wight Coastal Path.  During the trip I hope to be able to do a presentation on the plight of Zimbabwean pensioners and the work of ZANE whilst on the Isle of Wight.

ZANE supports the helpless in Zimbabwe - black and white - through help with accommodation, medical support and food parcels.  One of it's supporters is Prince Michael of Kent. Could you help support ZANE too?

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
