Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My challenge is a simple but tough one.
I will start, at the completion of the two-minute silence, on Armistice Day (Friday November 11th) from the War Memorial in Penistone in the West Riding of Yorkshire and will run 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours finishing at the same Memorial at 1058 on Remembrance Sunday (Sunday November 13th).
Penistone, near Barnsley, is in the West Riding of Yorkshire the traditional recruiting area for my former Regiment, The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding) and my home town. Despite being amalgamated in 2006 I, and others, remain hugely proud of this fine Regiment and that's why I have decided to donate all funds raised to The Standing Tall Foundation, a new charity founded by a fellow Duke Veteran Andy Reid MBE who has led the way since suffering life changing wounds in Afghanistan in 2009. I am deeply honoured to be supporting Andy's Foundation and grateful also to the other former Dukes who are supporting me with this challenge.
Please donate whatever you can.
