Stoneclough poppy waterfall

David De Souza is raising money for The Royal British Legion

Stoneclough poppy waterfall · 11 November 2021

The RBL are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

As many of you know, our poppy waterfalls and Remembrance Arch on Ringley Old Bridge have become a much-loved tradition for our community. Every year the turnout has grown, with people travelling from all over the UK, last year alone we welcomed visitors from Brecon in South Wales and Motherwell in Scotland.

The support, respect, and unity shown on Remembrance Day has been incredible, and until our cenotaph is finally built, Ringley Old Bridge will remain the heart of our local Act of Remembrance.

Every year, we will honour our fallen on the bridge. Although the cenotaph project continues in the background, our Remembrance installations remain an important part of our community’s identity.

Until our cenotaph is built, Ringley Old Bridge will continue to be the home of our Remembrance Day service, and we will proudly keep this tradition going.

This page is solely for the funds raised throughout Remembrance for the Royal British Legion.
