Even today, 900 million people do not have access to safe water. Water-borne diseases kill 10,000 people, mostly kids, every day.

1001 Fontaines is an NGO that our family has supported for many years, which provides clean water to those who only have a pond to drink from. It works and it is well managed. Since 2004, over 100 water-purification stations have been installed in three countries (Cambodia, India and Madagascar). 180,000 villagers benefit from low cost water with an additional 60,000 schoolchildren receiving completely free water.  Our operators become financially independent once the initial funding is in place, thereby ensuring the long term viability of our facilities. Villagers with our water have demonstrably better health and much less diarrhea-related school absenteeism.

25 friends have embarked on an adventure to cycle “the Marmotte”, a legendary ride through the Alps, in support of 1001 Fontaines. This ride has four mythical passes to climb: the Glandon, the Telegraph, the Galbier and a finish up the 21 hairpins of l'Alpe d'Huez. We will climb 5000 meters (over 3 miles!) during our 180 km ride.

With your support, we hope to raise 100,000 euros. This will allow the installation of 5 new villages benefiting 10,000 poor people. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
