Last year in July our beautiful 2 year old daughter Rosie- May suddenly passed away from a volvulos of the small bowel. In simple terms this is a twist in the bowel that happened without any reason and meant that she was ill for just one afternoon before passng away late that night. Obviously we were absolutely devestated and completely bewildered how this could have happened to our very healthy and lively toddler so out of the blue and were desperate for some answers. It is incredibly rare and so despite their best attempts our local doctors and coroner struggled to give us answers. We contacted GOSH to ask if anyone could help us and very kindly a consultant there, Mr Curry, agreed to meet us and discuss Rosie's case, which was extremley helpful and although didn't change what happened, did help us understand. He also suggested performing some tests on our other two children, Sophie and Ryan, to ensure that they had no risks of the same happening to them. Doing this for us meant that Claire and I were reassured, but most importantly that the children were. All the staff we came into contact with at GOSH were so helpful and knowledgable and very understanding. Fantastic work happens there and they touch the lives of so many families. Any  money raised for this fantastic hospital will help them to continue to save childrens lives and have a positive impact on families at their worst time.
