Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit David's just giving page.

David was a very special and amazing man. Diagnosed with Cancer in July 2020, he fought a brave and courageous fight, living every day with his positive attitude, determined to beat the cancer. His amazing, positive, attitude is something that we can all take inspiration from.

David was a much loved, Husband to Corinne, Dad to Chloe, Son to Peter and Brother to Lesley and Richard. David was known for being the life and soul of the party, with his singing and particular his renditions of 'Ruby', 'Lola', 'Deho' & 'King of the Swingers' (Jungle Book), which he of course entertained the nurses with in St Cuthberts Hospice, with many of them joining in there was often a party in his room. Retaining his sense of humour right until the end, a nurse was brushing David's hair and said how he had lovely thick curly hair and quick as a flash David replied and what do you think about my glass eye! Typical of David, she laughed and then had a tear in her eye.

St Cuthbert's Hospice, Durham provided David and his family with a safe haven, a home from home, even allowing Sunny our golden retriever to be with David and we were all made to feel part of the St Cuthbert's family whilst David received the care and attention he needed.  It is an amazing place with amazing, knowledgeable, caring and loving staff which enabled us to have quality family time whilst in their care.
