Walk and Talk · 2 February 2020

A group will be walking from Celtic Park to the Fountain of Youth Stadium in Hamilton, on February 2, 2020, to raise awareness of the work being done to tackle poor mental health and loneliness, by Celtic FC Foundation and Time To Tackle.

Story

Any donations greatly received. I will be walking from Celtic park to Hamilton on the 2nd of February to raise money for Celtic Foundations project "You'll never talk alone". It's to help people suffering depression and loneliness. I know first hand what it's like to suffer from depression and anxiety as I was in that position at the end of 2018. I couldn't get my haircut without trying to faint, same with the dentist. I struggled with flying fearing I was going to faint every time. I also made excuses not to have to attend social events. Talking to someone was what got me back in line. Getting everything off my chest was like a weight off my shoulders and learning to believe in myself again. The Celtic foundation is an amazing institution who help so many people from all walks of life. I've lost over 2 stone in weight through the Football Fans in Training project run by them and some magnificent motivational staff and fellow fat clubbers. I was like a kid at Christmas travelling up to Celtic park every week with a permanent grin on my face. It culminated in me even being able to be on the pitch at halftime during the cup final in a beat the goalie thing. Scoring and putting the keeper on his backside was a high like no other. I would never have been able to do this if I'd hadn't talked to someone about my problems last year. I'd love to be able to give something back to them for all their hard work in changing people's lives for the better. Thank you.
