My name is David , I am 38 years old and work for VSG at the Mall Luton. At Christmas I weighed 18 stone 1 & 1/2pounds, the heaviest I have ever weighed. To be honest I have struggled all my life with my weight and lack of exercise. I have been presented with the opportunity to do a charity cycle ride on behalf of the Mall Luton. My colleague and I will ride alongside the team from Love Luton to raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. This cycle ride consists of travelling from Luton to Flanders in Belgium which is over 230 miles in distance over 3 days. Anybody who knows me will know this is the ultimate challenge for me as I have not ridden a bike properly for over 20 years. With the goal of losing weight so I can complete this task I will have to work hard and be 100% dedicated to my fitness and training. This is going to be really hard for me but I am sure with your support it will drive me to keep pushing in order to succeed and raise money for this extremely worthwhile cause.
So far my training has been cycling to and from work for the last 3 weeks which is a 12 mile round trip. It was quite a shock when the Beast from the East and storm Emma made an appearance in my second week of cycling this did not deter me and I managed to complete my journeys every day which proves my determination and 100% commitment to this charity event. Please dig deep and be generous to help me raise loads of money for the poppy Appeal for all the brave men and women of our armed services who have served to protect the country in all conflicts and have paid the ultimate sacrifice by giving up their future so that we may all have one.
Thank you in advance for your support
