This is a very personal story to me and my reasons for raising fund for this cause are as follows:

On 15th December 1995 my daughter Nicole was stillborn and this changed our lives forever. In hindsight I should have sought help and support because I feel this affected certain aspects of my life, relationships and functioning for a very long time as I was holding on to lots of positive and negative emotions and kept in a lot of pent up tears. As a typical Yorkshireman I put on a brave face and kept it all in. Many more years down the line I look back and feel that perhaps this wasn't the way to do it so if you are reading this and are affected by grief, loss, illness or something else that affects you negatively please think about seeking support. As a passionate and creative person I am also a sensitive man and I think that we should never be too proud or too stubborn to open up and accept goodwill, help and support.

As I went through all of the emotions of thinking what I should write on here I saw a lovely quote

"why do I have to say Goodbye before I had the chance to say Hello"

As a couple we didn't get the chance to say goodbye properly to Nicole and I think this affected me for many years afterwards despite my outward bravado. This is why I think it is absolutely vital to seek help, advice and support from wonderful people who are involved with organisations such as Sands. 

This is my charity of the year for 2019/20 and during the course of this period, all of my customers will have the chance to help me raise money for this amazing organisation. I will donate to this cause from one of my 2019 and 2020 weddings with the help of the couples who are booked in. In the meantime please feel free to donate anything you can as every penny helps. 

My reasons for supporting this charity are threefold:-

To Raise funds for an amazing cause

To help people in the same situation that I and my loved ones faced

To celebrate love and life. 

I am very lucky that I have the opportunity to travel Europe and the UK photographing weddings and to share people's love stories and raw emotions. I am so proud that I can document this to the best of my abilities and that what I do leaves a positive imprint on their hearts and creates lifelong memories too.
