Sportability provides FREE sport for people with paralysis in the UK. People with spinal cord injury stroke MS and others are now able to enjoy a range of sports - microlight flying gliding sailing archery angling quadbiking canoeing shooting 4x4 driving BloKart sailing wheelchair tennis and more.

Story

So Sportability is 21 this year!  Twenty-one years of organising sport and challenging pursuits for people with paralysis.  We couldn’t let that anniversary go by without some recognition.  Added to that I’ve now turned 70 and that also needs marking.

A few years ago I did a bike ride along the spine of Vietnam to kick-start the fundraising for our regional development.

This time I’m yomping a section of the Pennine Way.  The equivalent of three marathons, or over 250,000 steps, in 5 days covering some of the toughest terrain in Britain.  I’m trying to raise cash for people with paralysis.

And here’s my pledge:  Every penny raised will go to providing sporting events and activities for those people!

Every week throughout the summer Sportability is organising events such as micro-light flying, sailing, archery, quadbiking, shooting, fishing, canoeing, gliding and a host of other sports for people with paralysis.  In eight different regions around the UK we are helping to put the adrenalin buzz back into lives so often defined by a wheelchair, and taking the ‘dis’ out of disability.

If you’d like to support the Sport then please give generously.  Your cash could help someone lying in a hospital bed with a spinal injury, or devastated by the diagnosis of MS, or recovering from a stroke, with a body that just doesn’t function as before, to turn back on to life.  Your contribution really counts.
