Story
Thank's for visiting my page. As you probably know I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in February 2009 but thanks to the support of medical staff and the information available from Diabetes UK I was able to stabilise my condition very quickly and carry on with life as normal.
While treatment and support was readily availble for me through the Health Service the additional help offered by Diabetes UK made a big difference in allowing me to stabilise my condition. The infomation available through Diabetes UK also helped me to pass on key facts to family, friends and work colleagues helping them understand the condition and its implications.
In addition to the support I have benefited from first hand, Diabetes UK also undertake vital research and development working towards a future without diabetes.
This year I have chosen to take part in the Great North Run 2011 for my chosen charity "Diabetes UK"
Training is now well under way and training runs are now around 10/11miles.
Part of my training has also included a number of 5km and 10km road races, with the first being the Queen's 5K 'Round the River Race'.
