Just before Christmas, Kate asked me whether I wanted to participate in the Bath Half Marathon to help her achieve a good time. As I write today it is clear what my answer was. On race day we are aiming for under 2hrs, which will be a great achievement for Kate's first long distance race.

Having ran two marathons previously to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis, a cause very close to my heart,  I decided to raise money for the same charity that Kate had registered with. You never know when you will require emergency medical assistance, and the speed of the helicopter combined with the medical expertise can be the difference between life and death. However the costs of operating this service are around £3.25 million per annum, requiring a significant amount of kindness from volunteers, donors and fundraisers. 

I hope to see a few familiar faces on the race course, or sidelines.
