I'm writing you about a wonderful opportunity I've been given. For the last year or so since retirement, I've been praying that God would reveal His "next" for my life. Something significant that would impact many lives.

While visiting a home group at a friend's house, I learned about a ministry - "Nation-2-Nation" that is mobilizing pastors and churches in the developing world to reach their communities for Christ. I'm now very committed and volunteering with this ministry.

I'm especially excited that I have traveled to West Africa 3 times in the past year and have trained pastors and provided equipment to start schools in 11 countries from Senegal to Cameroon, concentrating in Republic of Benin and Togo. My last trip was for 6 weeks in February and March transporting equipment and USB curriculum drives into the interior villages and new schools have already begun and are flourishing in the northern portions of Benin.

Over the last years, these schools have been having a tremendous impact all over Africa. On average:
1. Each school results in 334 families coming out of poverty and disease and coming to faith in Christ.
2. Each school saves the lives of 60 small children - as parents learn how to protect their children from simple childhood diseases. (To me this is very meaningful. This is dozens of parents not grieving the loss of a child they deeply loved and cared for).
3. Each school trains twenty pastors and Christian workers, who on average lead 16 people to Christ each year.
4. Each school leads to the start-up of ten new churches.

Each trip costs approximately $6600. Approximately half of the money will cover my airline tickets, apartment and meals. The other half will cover school equipment, and the costs to bring in key leaders from neighboring countries - for travel, training, accommodations, meals and to receive equipment.
