Story

Last year, I visited a charity in Moss Side called Cornerstone who Kellogg’s supports as part of its Breakfasts for Better Days programme to help combat hunger. The centre provides services to adults facing a wide range of social issues including homelessness, poverty, refugee limbo and isolation. Kellogg’s provides food donations of cereal and snacks through FareShare (think foodbank) so that some of the most vulnerable people in Manchester can have breakfast in the morning.

I was so inspired by my visit to Cornerstone that I wanted to do something more to help. So on the 21st April, my 15 year old son Max and I will be taking part in The Big Sleep-Out in support of the thousands of people who have to endure sleeping rough on the streets of Manchester every year.

Armed with a few cardboard boxes (recycled Kellogg's of course) and a sleeping bag each, we will be pitching up at St Christopher’s Church in Ashton-under-Lyne and sleeping in the open air to raise money for Cornerstone’s PODS which provide temporary shelter for people in need. Each POD provides accommodation for two people and Cornerstone has ten in their car park. But that’s not enough. As more people become homeless, they need to provide more shelter so that’s where you come in.

Please sponsor Max and I and help us to help Cornerstone support more people in this way....  and please give generously.
