Story
A long time ago, at a tube station not so far, far away, two foolish and fresh-legged charity fundraisers set off from Walthamstow aiming to walk the distance of the Victoria line in one day. Little did they know when they reached Brixton (a mere 15 miles later) that they had set in motion a chain of events which has seen them complete seven (!) more lines of increasing distance, culminating with last year's epic conquest of the District Line. By the time they had reached Wimbledon, the seven walks had accumulated over £10,000 for Unicef, Sands and Tommy's.
So, having walked from Essex to Surrey(ish), what better challenge that to take on the original tube line, and head from the centre of the City of London to the heart of Buckinghamshire? We will be starting in Aldgate and heading up through the first tube line (started at Baker Street in 1863, thank you very much), continuing all the way up to Chesham, a mere 23 stops in total. Google Maps claims it is 33 miles, which is a conservative estimate. Eek.
So, please support our mad adventure - either by donating, spreading the word, joining us for a stop or two, or by doing all of the above. Your support makes all the difference, especially when we start flagging (which is usually after the fourth stop).
Lots of love,
