Story
**IMPORTANT**
As some of you may be aware, we were forced to cancel our walk on the first attempt, due to the campsite we were staying in flooding out and all of our gear getting soaked. As such, whilst we managed 160 miles, we did not achieve the full 300 we had aimed for.
In order to sort this out, we will be returning to the path in October to finish the walk and complete the 300 mile journey we had planned - details will continue to be released as they're sorted - but thank you to everyone for the support.
Dave, Kieran and John.
So what started out as an idea that Dave had to walk around the coast of Cornwall in 15 days spiralled, grabbing the attention of Kieran Tonge firstly, so he came on board to complete the walk as well. Soon after, in a 'dopey' moment, Dave's Dad John also decided he was feeling a bit 'nutsy', so decided he too wanted to go along for the walk.
You can read Dave and Kieran's story below to see what they've got to say about themselves - setting out for 15 days of walking on the Cornish coastline - thank you for taking the time to check out the page!
Daves Intro:
Hi, I'm Dave. Many of you know me as the 31 year old music fan who somehow manages to squeeze time into his life to work a day job as a teacher.
Over the last year, my wife Sian and I have been talking about where we should go on holiday with our son Will, considering such options as Turkey, Morocco or any of the numerous Spanish destinations, just so we could go somewhere to kick back, get some sun and relax for a couple of weeks. However, as always we were presented with a major issue, the first world problem of not knowing where to go.
Then all of a sudden one day it hit me, there are people out there who don't have the luxury of planning a week ahead, let alone months and a holiday. There are people out there suffering at the hands of others, going without food, support, warmth, education and a caring environment - let alone a bloody holiday in the sun!
So I sat back and had a think about this, and came to a decision. Instead of going off on a jolly holiday somewhere warm and sunny, I'm going to walk from Cremyll (just off the Tamar next to Plymouth for those who don't know) to Marsland Mouth (that's the Devon Cornwall border on the other side of the coast....the side some may call the North assuming you've encountered one of them there new fangled compass things!) - a distance of roughly 300 miles in approximately 15 days - not too shabby!
What with work and all that jazz I'm not going to have time to train for this one unfortunately, other than a spot of mountain biking from time to time, so this is going to be tough. My wife and son are going to be my support team, driving ahead of each place to set up the tent for the night or book into the B&B depending on what is where - all of which will be paid for out of our pockets and NOT the sponsorship I hope to raise for an amazing cause - Rock Against Child Pornography and Abuse UK.
I first encountered RACPA through a good friend Big D, organiser of the RACPA NLC Festival and all round top chap. Having seen first hand the work he put into organising the festival in the name of the charity this year, and how appreciated the money was, I was determined to find a way to get out and raise some money for them myself - and so the idea was born.
Big thanks to Kieran for offering to come along for the walk and to Dave and Elaine for changing their holiday plans to come to Cornwall on holiday instead of Norfolk! Sian and Will will be our road team with us meeting up with them, and of course Mr and Mrs Big D in the evenings for dinner and well earned rest! We'll be keeping the page as updated as possible over the course of the planning process and will of course be spamming all of you with requests for sponsorship - so please, give what you can - even if it's a pound - every little helps.
So in summary, we're about to walk 300 miles along the coast of the UK - marvellous!
Please get in touch if you're somewhere along the route (will be posted) and can provide a spot of shelter for a night - even if only a field or a swift half of ale to keep me going - and we hope to see as many of you as possible during my time on the path.
Here's hoping we have some sort of Summer!

KIERANs STORY
Hi I am 16 years old and most of you will know me as Kezza, at the minute I am at college doing a Sports Science Course and also work Part Time as a Green Keeper at Morley Hayes Golf Club. You will often find me on Roadie duties for Eva Plays Dead and Stage Managing our Festival for RACPA UK in May..... I have loads of hobbies including playing Guitar, Football, playing in goal for Derby County, Mansfield town and Chesterfield Academies in the past, Air Soft, Camping and Walking. Been in Air Cadets so done the flying bit !!! Oh and also occassionally I help with the Noize Level Critical Radio Show..
I have already got my D of E Silver award and National Orienteering Award so hopefully we shouldn't get lost, as I'm not 18 keeping Dave out the pubs will be the hardest task ;-)
Why am I doing this ? well it was good to mess the family holiday plans up LOL, no seriously I am doing this to raise money for a Charity Rock Against Child Pornography and Abuse UK that we support through the radio show Noize Level Critical and also to be able to do it with someone else who is a keen musician, walker and friend made the decision a no brainer...So there we have it 300 miles in 15 days..I keep saying it will be easy but as you all know Cornwall is a rough old terrain and can bite back...Wish us luck and PLEASE donate as much as possible.
