The three Rotary clubs of Ashby have each year raised substantial funds to donate to local children's charities through the Santa Sleigh Collection project which has involved taking Santa and his sleigh out into the community and visiting children in the Ashby and surrounding area. Our programme of visits to the various areas is well publicised and children and their parents line the streets waiting for his arrival. The children can speak to Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas and parents are able to make a donation to the chosen charities. It is a wonderful warm event when we take Santa to the children and build on the excitement of the Christmas period. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, Santa will be unable to stop and talk to the children this year but he will still be visiting Ashby and the surrounding area. He will make a slow tour of the area on his sleigh and wave as he passes by and details will be on the sleigh of the ways donations can be made.
