Story

Help save lives by buying my new book

There's an appalling situation, mainly in Africa, where many children are
suffering at this very moment from malnutrition, a condition that stunts their physical, emotional and psychological development, and many are dying of starvation, a horribly painful way to leave this existence.

According to Oxfam, East Africa, Yemen and north-east Nigeria are
in the grip of an unprecedented and devastating food crisis while Yemen and Somalia are on the brink.”  As usual, it's children who suffer the most.

It might be tempting to believe that we as individuals are powerless to help for any contribution we might make is a mere drop in the ocean. But let's not forget that a mighty ocean is made up of unimaginably many drops, and each of those drops is needed to create the ocean. This fundraising event is my drop. You make it bigger when you contribute.

That means that solving this crisis is the personal responsibility of all of us. That’s why I've turned my forthcoming book launch into this fundraising event for Save the Children.

That's why I’m going to be selling my new book, How to be a Popular Crew, which normally retails at £6.45, for one day only to people at the physical launch, and at this virtual launch, for at least £10 (feel free to pay more) and all the proceeds from book sales will go to the charity.

You may be utterly bored stiff by the subject matter, sailing, but that’s irrelevant. This is about raising money for an essential cause. If you let me know of your donation by e-mail to info@dave-robson.com together with your name and address, I'll send you a copy of the book by post.

Please contribute whatever you can afford (minimum £10). The contribution and donations applies only to the day of the launch, which is Thursday 8th. March 2018. After that the book will revert to being sold normally for its usual price of £6.45 + post and packing and you can get it via my new website www.dave-robson.com

According to UNICEF, “malnutrition is having a disastrous impact and as ever, children are among the worst affected.”

Oxfam reports, "This is the largest hunger emergency in the world. If these crises are left unresolved, malnutrition and deaths will increase exponentially in a catastrophic deterioration. United Nations warned as many as 1.4 million children could die of starvation in the coming
months.”

What a bizarre world we live in – one half stuffs itself till it suffers from obesity and diabetes, while the other half starves to death. This is crazy and we can't allow it to continue. By contributing to this cause you help to start the ball rolling and who knows, if enough people start fundraising maybe we'll get the snowball effect.
