I am running the Great Scottish Run in memory of my daughter Nell who was sadly born sleeping on 12th January this year.  

My wife and I, along with our daughter Emmy, would not have got through the last few months without the help of friends and family.  We received a memory box from SANDS which contained precious items to allow us to make memories for Nell and this has proved to be a crucial tool in our journey as bereaved parents.   The comfort is gives us is of immense value.

We have also received exceptional care and support from the team at Wishaw General Maternity Department and it for that reason that we are raising money to help support SANDS  to allow them to continue to provide memory boxes for parents who sadly find themselves in the same situation as us.   We would also like to raise funds towards a new family room at Wishaw General which will be away from the labour suite and give bereaved parents some much needed time with their wee ones.

Sands has a nationwide group of local networks run by bereaved parents to support anyone affected by the loss of a baby. Our local group, Glasgow Sands is part of this network and 100% of your donations will be used to support their work. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Sands will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 25% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.  The Gift Aid is used to support Sands work across the UK.
