Story

This is a massive challenge which fills me with excitement and apprehension. I am undertaking this challenge with my Brother Matthew.

To put this distance into perspective it's like running 2 and a half marathons back to back whilst climbing to the top of the Empire State Building 5 and a half times.

I have recently spoken to Friends about it and talked through my training preparation, my training plans shows me running a 60k run as good preparation, to try and describe the distance I shall quote one of my friend's response: 'Well if you can run 60k, you have really broken the back of it...in fact you still have a Marathon to run...why are you doing this again'

That leads me onto why I am doing this, firstly my brother signed up to this challenge and wanted company, folding to peer pressure I agreed. Since that period however, My Wife's Nan got diagnosed with Cancer (Feb 23), upon her diagnoses she was put in contact with St Wilfred's who immediately looked into various arrangements and plans for her. St Wilfred's were amazing throughout the whole period Elaine suffered with Cancer and were a real help to the family up until her passing in April 23.

St Wilfred's also helped my Granny many years ago go through a similar process, and although I was very young at the time I know my family truly appreciated the efforts, as a result I thought this was a great opportunity to try and raise some money to show our appreciation for all the hard work they undertake.

If you could please spare any money to help hit my target it would be hugely appreciated by myself, the staff and any patients.

Thank you.

David.
