YMCA Teesdale is calling on people to support the efforts to raise funds for the work carried out in the local communities of Teesdale.

Story

YMCA provide nearly 10,000 beds per night and their volunteers give almost 800,000 hours of their time to help young people every year.

YMCA works with some of the most disadvantaged and disengaged young people where risk-taking behaviours and anti-social behaviour is high. This  can often lead to them becoming at risk of homelessness. YMCA works with these individuals to ensure they get back on the "right path" for them and aim to reduce the chances of them becoming homeless. This includes teaching the young people vital independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting and maintaining a well balanced life. YMCA in the largest provider of supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25 years old in England and Wales.

YMCA in Teesdale is working to ensure any young person that becomes homeless does not have to leave their support network to access a basic human right; a safe place to call home.
