I have decided to give up alcohol for lent which to most religious people is 40 days and 40 nights as they do not include Sundays.

The reason for this is that despite popular belief the six Sundays in Lent are not counted among the 40 because each Sunday represents a 'mini easter' a celebration of Jesus's victory over sin and death. Sadly no-one told me this in 2008 when I did this and I therefore end up 'fasting' for 46 days due to my beliefs.I will therefore again go the extra week and refrain from the wonderful demon drink for 46 days finishing Easter Sunday. My darling wife will meanwhile be jugging it up in Lourdes with Group 26.
