Story

I lost contact with my good school friend, when I left secondary school, only to find out several years later that my friend had died from this disease. This has troubled me for over 35 years. He was one of my best school friends, who was intelligent, well respected and could always bring a smile to my face. He was one of the good guys.

Sickle Cell took my friends life and therefore his future, but it can never take away my memories of this truly gentle soul.

I needed and wanted to know more about this disease and  came across a Charity called The Sickle Cell Society. This Charity has been delivering research and educational projects, supporting individuals and families and influencing policy for the past 40 years.

This Charity needs help to ensure it can continue to make a positive difference to people affected by Sickle Cell for the next 40 years .

I would greatly appreciate if you could help in my fund raising run by making any donations to help me reach my target.

I know Xmas is soon upon us and the cost of living is rising, but if you can make a donation of any size it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
