Summiting Everest at The Galleries · 11 October 2021

Since 1993, we have impacted the lives of over 250,000 people living in hard-to-reach communities in rural Nepal. We have built or renovated over 160 earthquake resilient schools, creating safe and inclusive learning environments. Our other projects include community health and sanitation projects.

Alan and I will be climbing the equivalent height of Mount
Everest (8849m) on steppers in the Mall at The Galleries from Monday 11th
to Friday 15th October.  That’s a total of 3,871 floors between
us on the steppers.

We’re doing it in aid of the charity Pahar Trust Nepal which
has been building and maintaining schools and health facilities in the country
for 30 years. To celebrate this anniversary, PTN is raising £50k throughout
2021 to support early years education in 30 of those schools.

This week we’re highlighting the role of Tiffin, a light
nutritious meal often eaten at lunchtime in the heat of the day and a staple in
schools to ensure pupils get good nutrition.  Our goal of £1,000 would be
enough to provide Tiffin meals for a whole school for a year.

We think Tiffin Week serves to illustrate that every
donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference to our charity and the
children we support.
